Founded in 2009, Katherine Coaches specialised in providing remote area bus services, currently accommodating and connecting over 60 remote Australian communities throughout the Top End of the Northern Territory and beyond.

Katherine Coaches is the class leader in Remote Bus Charter Services for the Top End. We provide regular services to communities and other locations such as Numbulwar, Ngukurr, Minyerri, Borroloola, Lajamanu, Kalkarindji, Timber Creek, Kununurra, Bulman, Gapuwiyak and Darwin as well as remote outstations at passengers requests.

  • Our Expertise

With a fleet of vehicles up to 67 seat capacity, we can provide safe and affordable passenger transport to the remotest corners of Australia.

The fleet consists of over 30 buses and a few smaller Four Wheel Drive Vehicles, that can seat from 4 to 67 people at any one time. All built to handle the extreme conditions of the Northern Territory. With our own inhouse team of Mechanics and cleaners, all vehicles are maintained to the highest standards. Our fleet of purpose built vehicles both four wheel drive and two wheel drive, along with its 30 staff, travels over 22,000 kilometres every week! Which equates to travelling around the world every 2 weeks !

We have offices and bus warehouses in Darwin and Katherine so that we can be flexible and offer you the best service wherever you travel.

  • They trust us

We have been very proud to help Tiwi Enterprises establish the Tuparipiya Bus Service on Tiwi Islands by providing Management, mentoring and drivers. These services whilst being short in distance, are like no other. Challenges including flooded roads, buffalos, cyclones and the odd rogue barramundi are accounted on a regular basis. For example, we also helped the Pigeon Hole community to resettle after the floods, providing several buses and a truck to transport everyone and their personal belongings.

Bodhi Bus

The innovative idea to connect over 60 of our remotest communities in the North of Australia, whilst offering an affordable mode of transport, was the brainchild of David Bursle. Based in the regional town of Katherine, Northern Territory Australia, Katherine Coaches nestles itself right at the crossroads of remote Western Australia, Central Australia and The Gulf of Carpentaria. Home of the world-famous Katherine Gorge and Nitmiluk National Park, Katherine is the hub of many outlying Indigenous communities of which more than 18,000 people call home.
Travelling to places such as Gapuwiyak, Darwin and everywhere in between, Katherine Coaches has the capacity to transport thousands of travellers every week including charters!
